Type to Learn 4 MAC "Installation Failed. The installer encountered an error..."

Symptom: When attempting to install the program the error message; "The installation failed.  The installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail.  Contact software manufacturer for assistance." appears.

 

Why?: This error displays when you are attempting to install the software while logged into a Standard user account, in other words, an account that is not the Administrator.

Solution: Verify that you are logged in as an account with Administrator privileges.

  1. Begin by checking the System Preferences and selecting Accounts.

  2. Verify that My Account is an Admin and not a Standard user.
