Troubleshooting: Connecting to Your Wireless Cisco System

Our devices normally work on most systems, but should you have trouble connecting to your Cisco Wireless Infrastructure, you may need to try these settings:

  • If you are having trouble connecting to your wireless system and your school has a Cisco wireless system, you may want to begin with configuring your Cisco controller under “Data Rates”:
    • 1 Mbps – disabled
    • 2 Mbps - disabled
    • 5.5 Mbps - disabled
    • 6 Mbps - disabled
    • 9 Mbps - disabled
    • 11 Mbps - disabled
  • Please be sure to have these “Enabled”as well:
    • 802.11b/g Network Status
    • 802.11g Support
    • Short Preamble
    • OTPC Support

Tablet unable to connect to Cisco network when roaming to the next classroom

If the tablet is able to connect to one AP in one classroom, but is unable to re-connect to another after traveling to another classroom, please try disabling the 802.11b data rates and see if this helps resolve the issue.
