edredi: Unlocking the edredi Tablet

edredi can be in one of three lock modes:

• Locked – Student Mode

  Where only the edredi interface is visible and only approved Resources are available.

• Teacher Mode

  Where a dedicated Teacher category is available and no application or website blocking is applied.

• Admin Mode

  Where edredi can be used as a fully-functional Android tablet. The secure edredi interface can be relaunched at any time and quickly locked.

When edredi is unlocked into Teacher or Admin Mode, the Padlock, found in the top righthand corner, will also be unlocked:

and the Teacher Option will become available. When edredi is locked into Student Mode, the Padlock icon will be locked the Teacher Option in the Menu will be grayed out.

Student Mode

TO UNLOCK THE EDREDI TABLET WITH A PASSWORD

Click the Locked Padlock at the top of the tablet, enter the Password in the box that appears on your tablet screen and tap Unlock.

The default password is included with the Welcome materials. When the edredi tablet is unlocked, the Padlock will also be unlocked in the top right hand corner of the tablet.
