Guide Experience: Main Lesson
The Main Lesson session allows the teachers to select the book from a selection of books leveled at the student(s) reading level. "Talking Points" and "Discussion Questions" prompts the guide and other students to have a discussion while reading the book and after to build comprehension, discussion, and critical thinking skills.
Main Lesson Steps
- Views & Uses Coaching Tips
- Introduces New Vocabulary & Definitions
- Views Tips for Main Lesson
- Selects the student to read by touching their name
(make sure each student has equal time reading) - Asks “Talking Points” while student(s) read (Talking Points change when pages are turned)
- Views Tips for Discussion Questions
- Views & Uses Coaching Tips
- Asks “Discussion Questions” allow students to scroll back through text if needed
- Chooses “No Time for Game” or “Let’s Play a Game”
- Allow students to play a game while you complete the rubric
- Complete rubric while students move onto other activities
